After rocking house parties, warehouse gigs and club shows for half a decade, we are proud to welcome Beastside to the Big Village roster to release their debut LP, Time Framed in June 2017.
Beastside is a six piece outfit of rappers and producers: Bill Medley, Frogman, Hinhop, Awash, Filthy Rich and Keazy. Although influenced by UK grime and trap, their hip hop is distinctly Australian, both lyrically and in accent, and their devoted following is testimony to their compelling, authentic sound.
Originally hailing from East Sydney, the tight-knit group completed the writing and demo recording of Time Framed under a single roof in Marrickville.The album came to personify their lifestyle of persistent hustle, perpetual revelry and volatile personal relationships.

Omar Musa’s debut novel “Here Come the Dogs” has received widespread critical acclaim. He has recently toured across Asia, USA, Europe, South America and Australia, performing spoken word and hip hop, to launch the book. His diverse career achievements include being longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award and named one of the SMH’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015, winning the Australian Poetry Slam in 2008, speaking at TEDx Sydney, appearing on ABC’s Q&A, and releasing two books of poetry.
Mathas is gearing up to embark on his largest national tour to date, including performances at the Wide Open Space Festival, NT and Big Pineapple Music Festival, QLD. Set for late April, the shows will see Mathas take his renowned live performances to a new level, touring with his new three-piece live band for the first time.

Mathas is right back at it with the release of new single ‘Bravo Troll’. The single continues Mathas’ exploration of the world around him, written on a 1979 Yamaha Electone C-35 Organ and recorded through a single stage microphone; ‘Bravo Troll’ explores the folklore of the troll.
The ‘Champion Sound Remixtape’ is a tribute to the Jaylib 2003 classic “Champion Sound” LP. P.Smurf delivers a collection of new songs using beats from the original release and collaborations with long term DJ Cost as well as MCs Maundz, Ellesquire, 1/6, Hyjak, SWARMY, Class A, Joe New and Nooky.
The digital mixtape is accompanied with an original comic book release of the same title, by illustrator Sam Clouston, which tells a story of disruption, addiction and corruption inside Smurf Village.
